What happens to what you say
Nothing is stored by default
When you end a conversation, it is gone. You can switch saving on — then it stays on your device, not with us.
“Unburden my heart” is never stored
That mode cannot be recorded. Not even when saving is switched on.
No account, no registration
Zuversicht does not ask for a name, an address or a phone number. A first name is optional and stays on the device.
Encrypted and without your name
To produce an answer, the text of your conversation travels encrypted to an AI service. Without a name, without an address, with no link to you.
No advertising, no reselling
Conversations are not used for advertising and are not sold.
Delete everything, any time
One button in the settings deletes conversations, memories and settings for good.
When it is serious
Zuversicht is an app. It replaces neither pastoral care, nor therapy, nor medical treatment. If you do not know how to go on, these services have a human available day and night (Switzerland):
Questions people ask
Is Zuversicht a real priest or pastor?
No. Zuversicht is an artificial intelligence. It is not a human being, not ordained, and not acting for any church. The app says so at first start and whenever you ask.
Can I confess to Zuversicht?
You can say anything out loud, and in Catholic mode Zuversicht helps you prepare for confession. It is not a valid confession with absolution — only a priest can give that.
Are my conversations stored?
Not by default. When you end a conversation, it is gone. If you want to pick it up later you can switch saving on; it then stays on your own device. The “Unburden my heart” mode is never stored.
Does the seal of confession apply?
No, and the app says so plainly. An app cannot promise the seal of confession. The text of your conversation travels encrypted and without your name to an AI service that produces the answer.
Does Zuversicht replace therapy?
No. Zuversicht listens and accompanies, but makes no diagnosis and provides no treatment. In an acute crisis the app points to services where a human is available — whether or not you have a subscription.
What does Zuversicht cost?
The core features are free, including 15 minutes of conversation a day, the daily thought and crisis help. Zuversicht Premium is 6.90 CHF a month or 69.— a year, with 7 days free.
Is there an iPhone version?
Not yet. Zuversicht starts on Android. An iPhone version is planned but has no date.
Which languages does Zuversicht speak?
German and English. More languages are planned.
